Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from all of us at Newcastle Fibromyalgia Support Group!
Whilst Christmas is a wonderful time of year, it can also be extremely hard and isolating, especially when living with multiple chronic illnesses. Please remember to go easy on yourselves, rest in between family/friends gatherings and know that if you need to sneak off for a nap no one will mind. Remember your chronic illnesses don’t take the holidays off and you still need to look after yourself the best way you can. So be mindful, you’re only one person, you’re not a burden, and you are loved 💖
We’re still here for online support throughout what can be a really hard time of year to get through, either through our Facebook group or through email (firstname.lastname@example.org) know that it may take a few hours for someone to reply.
If you are in crisis and in need of immediate support, please call a helpline. You do not have to be experiencing suicidal thoughts to ring the Samaritans..they are fully trained to listen and help you through whatever you’re going through.
I’ve made a list of some helpful helpline numbers just in case anyone might need it.
Sending you all big Christmassy love, and I’ll see you all in February 💖
