Christmas is a great time to reflect on everything that’s happened over the past year, so I’d like to take some time to show my gratitude to you all!
I really wanted to start with taking a moment to thank the group founder Angela Campbell. Without her starting the group up 9 years ago, we wouldn’t have this life line in Newcastle, bridging the gap in care and support for people living with this chronic illness.
Your hard work, determination and effort over the past 9 years has been incredible, Angie, and I really hope you’re able to look back and be truly proud of what you started, and everything that has happened between then and now.
Not only have you founded the group, and ran it for so long, you’re also at every fundraiser, you’re the treasurer, the North East Regional Co-ordinator for FMAUK and the ultimate gift wrapping queen!
Thank you so much for everything you have done, and everything you continue to do.
I’m so grateful that you have all welcomed me as Chairperson over the past year, you’ve all helped and supported me so much. Whilst I’m only coming up to my 1 year anniversary in February, in April it’ll be the group’s 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY and I can’t wait to celebrate with you!
I would also like to extend a massive thank you to all of the committee members.
This past year has been a busy one and extremely hard at times, but it would not have been possible without each and every one of you putting the work in behind the scenes.
We make a great team when we put our minds together (because let’s face it..brain fog is not our friend most of the time )
I’m so proud of all of you and so thankful to you all for everything you have done for the group! All the effort, ideas and planning you have all put in this past year to keep the support group going has been amazing
You’re incredible and I’m proud to have such a wonderful fibro family.
Thank you all so, so much!
We’ve all had a busy year fundraising to keep the support group going, and I’m happy to announce that we’ve made a total of £2536.76 this year!! (Obviously excluding the money we’ve had to pay out) This is an incredible amount! It would not have been possible without the help and support of our group members, thank you all so, so much! You’ve all helped in so many different ways, from donating items to the tombola stalls, running the tombola stalls, sharing about events on social media, doing car boot sales, raising money through the GNR, raising money through schools.. You’ve all done such an amazing job and I’m so proud of you all!
I’d like to send my love and thanks to each and every member. I am so grateful to all of you, your involvement in the support group is incredible. You are who we do all this for, and this group has helped me make many friends, people who I now consider my fibro family! You are all so brave, and so amazing, and so supportive of one another. I look forward to seeing you all next year! Remember to go easy on yourselves this Christmas, unfortunately chronic illnesses don’t take the holidays off, so remember you’re allowed to rest, and continue to look after yourselves in the best way you can.
Sending you all BIG Christmassy love!
