Metrocentre fundraiser

On Sunday the 3rd of December some of our members (and their friends and family) ran a tombola stall on the charity barrow in the blue zone of the Metrocentre to raise money for the support group, and to also raise awareness of Fibromyalgia in the community. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped out in any way, be that through donations to our tombola, running the tombola itself, driving to and from the lock up, counting up the money taken, sharing through social media that we would be there… there’s so many ways to be involved and help out and you all did an amazing job!

I’m so pleased to be able to tell you that we managed to raise a whopping

£594.06!

This money goes directly back into supporting people living with this life changing condition, and providing a safe and kind environment to learn more about it and be around people who understand what you’re going through.

So from us all, thank you so, so much!
We also got a ‘job well done’ from our national charity FMAUK

As well as raising money to help keep the support group going, we also do these events to raise awareness of Fibromyalgia. On Sunday we met a lot of people, but we also met 3 people who had been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. We were able to tell them about the support group and comfort them in knowing they are not alone in this journey. That is why we do what we do. Having a recent diagnosis is often a very overwhelming and scary situation, I know it was for me when I was diagnosed…and if we can help even one person with this, then that’s a very special thing to me, and all the committee, and all the members of the support group.

I’m so proud of you all, and I really love our group and our members, you’re all so supportive of one another, be that online or in real life, and it’s an honour to be able to get to know you all.

Sending you all big, big love,

Alison
