Yesterday we had our last craft session of 2017!
The weather outside was most certainly frightful, but we still had a lovely group turn up to take a few hours out of everyday life to do some Christmassy crafts and be around people also living with chronic illnesses. Christmas can be an extremely hard and exhausting time when you have a chronic illness, so this little break away from all the planning/shopping/wrapping was a lovely little treat and a great way to add some self care into their day!
Our crafters made Christmas decorations, cards, calendars and jewellery, I’ve included some pictures below!
We also had a lovely comment last night from one of our members who said:
“I really enjoyed today. Thank you to everyone for being so friendly. I rarely get to see anyone but my partner, my mam and my daughter, so it was nice to have the chance to meet other people.”
This really warmed mine and the committee’s hearts. This is why we do what we do, we all need the support that the group offers, and I’m so pleased and proud to be a part of it.
