Hi everyone! At our June meeting we welcomed along our guest speaker Dr Walker. We met as usual at The Oxford Centre, but the unusual thing for us was that it happened to be one of the hottest days of the year! We had a lot of members, some windows, and one fan…it’s fair to say it got very, very humid! So a big thank you to all the members who came along and stuck Read more about Group Meeting – guest speaker Dr Walker (19-06-17)[…]
Again, I’m so sorry some of these posts are a bit late, but it really couldn’t be helped. I’m getting everything up to date now though, and thought I would talk a bit about what happened at our May meeting. We had a great time at our group meeting in May, there were 8 new members through the doors and so many of our returning members too. It was so nice to see everyone, and Read more about May’s meeting (belated update)…. (15-05-17)[…]
A bit of a late update from me, I’m so sorry! I’ve been finding it hard to find the time to do everything with moving house but I’m finally starting to find my feet again. So I just wanted to pop an update on the website about our fundraising on International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day! A group of members took turns in helping out on our fundraising stall in the Metrocentre, and even took turns wearing Read more about International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day 12th May 2017..[…]

Our last crafting meet up was on the 4th of April and we had an Easter theme to all of our crafts. What is Self-Soothing? Self-Soothing is instilled in self-compassion and is important for stimulating your Soothing System and moving you away from your Threat System. Doing things that you love and things that calm and help you every day isn’t selfish, it’s self-care and something you deserve and are worthy of. It’s important to remember that you are entitled to this even when you feel like you haven’t done anything that warrants being kind Read more about Self Soothing[…]
20-03-17 At the last meeting we explored mindfulness, how stress affects the body with physical symptoms, primary and secondary suffering, and what we use to help manage our pain.
